SPECIAL ACTIONS

In September 2023 our Association was once again on the front line and carried out yet another emergency action aimed at helping the victims of the prefecture of Magnesia after the devastating wave of bad weather "Daniel". In close cooperation with our volunteers and local residents to record the actual needs, we proceeded to collect humanitarian aid for the flood victims. Thanks to the unprecedented and touching response of people from various regions of Greece and abroad, 180 boxes of essentials and long-life food were collected and sent, which in cooperation with the Niki Volos Gymnastics Club were distributed to the οrphanage and the nursing home of Volos, as well as wherever there was a verified real need.

In August 2023, our Association successfully implemented the collection of humanitarian aid for the fire victims of Evros Prefecture. Thanks to the contribution of our fellow citizens of Greece and Cyprus, 33 boxes with humanitarian aid were collected. With the help of our volunteers, the collected items were delivered to the Cultural Association of Kirki in Alexandroupolis, and to the Athletic Training Association of "Akritas Dadias". From there, they were distributed to firefighters, to volunteers, and to our fire-struck fellow human beings.

Once again, our Association proceeded to gather humanitarian aid for the earthquake-affected people in Turkey and Syria. Thanks to the immediate and moving response of our fellow citizens to the call of our Association, dozens of boxes of UHT food, clothing, personal hygiene products, bed linen and medical supplies were collected and handed over to the Municipality of Drama to be forwarded to the affected areas.

In collaboration with the Cultural Association of Arkalochori and the warm participation of volunteers and our fellow human beings, we gathered 89 boxes of long-lasting food, necessity products, personal hygiene products, school supplies and bedding and we delivered them to the earthquake victims of the municipality of Heraklion in Crete. The response of people in our action was wide with donations from all over Greece and Cyprus, city associations and local businesses.

During the summer of 2021, volunteers of our Association visited Private Kindergartens and Centres of Creative Activities for Children of the municipality of Drama. There, with plenty of games and in an interactive way, the values of voluntarism and offering were approached. Our little friends had the chance to come closer to the values of solidarity, selflessness and humanity and in this way, we are trying altogether to make voluntarism a manner of living!

Walltherapies” (aka Toixotherapies) were realized every Sunday afternoon at 18:00 from January to May 2021. “Toixotherapies” concerned 20 free, open and interactive meetings, via Zoom platform supported by various scientists-speakers and different agenda on each event. They kept us great company, counting more than 1000 participations from all over Greece and abroad. A total of 23 exquisite volunteers-speakers presented topics that were about our mental health, empowerment and self-awareness. Indicatively, we shared our feelings, concerns and thoughts with: Antonis Kalogirou, Stefanos Ksenakis, Dimitris Flamouris, Apostolis Koumarinos, Nancy Mallerou, Lisa Varbogli and many more distinguished scientists of various specialties.

Thanks to the immediate response and participation of our fellow human beings, we gathered humanitarian aid for the earthquake victims of the municipality of Elassona. Our Association in collaboration with the “Elassonites Volunteers Active Citizens” association and the “1st Scout System of Ampelonas” kept track of realistic needs of the victims and afterwards, with the help of these teams, they distributed the products. Indicatively, one hundred thirty-seven (137) boxes were collected and sent, including necessities, long-lasting food, cleaners, school supplies, toys and various bedding goods, sharing love to our affected fellow human beings.

Action aiming at raising humanitarian aid for the flood victims in Karditsa. A total of 111 boxes filled with various cleaning products,items of personal hygiene, school supplies, food and household equipment and 1440 mineral water bottles were gathered and distributed to these people from our voluntary teams “Act for Karditsa” and “The Wall of Love Karditsa”!

100 handmade fabric masks for adults to the Healing Center of Chronic Diseases, 100 handmade children’s masks to the Pediatrics Department of the General Hospital of Drama and, 60 special fabric masks with transparent film to the Deaf Association “Liberty” of our city.
