As every year, this year our volunteers created our Easter collection with various handmade candles, which we made available to the public, so that through donations we achieved our main goal, that was to offer humanitarian work.
For the 6th birthday anniversary of our Association on February 8th, the volunteers symbolically prepared 6,000 hand-made white flowers and 6,000 cards that were distributed in cars, so the receivers would take them, smiling happily and feeling warmth. The purpose was that the residents would be motivated in order to offer flowers to their loved ones in turn, thus creating an endless chain of love and joy. The white color of the flowers is a symbol of purity, innocence and conveys a sense of peace, tranquility and hope, feelings that are important to spread in order to alleviate the difficulties of everyday life
During Christmas we help “differently” (in another way)! For the 4th consecutive year, the volunteers of our Association crafted our handmade Christmas collection “for all these you have in your heart”. By choosing a Christmas present from our collection, everyone can share smiles to their precious ones and at the same time make a donation to our Association, contributing to our humanitarian work.
For a 3rd consecutive year, the Wall of Kindness gathered and donated school supplies (bags, notebooks, cases etc.) to students in need. More particularly, we collected and distributed 200 school bags and 50 boxes with new school items and plenty of stationery to the five Social Services and the Department of Children Protection of the municipality of Drama. At the same time, being aware of the needs that were created by the unfavorable conditions of the fires in August and in collaboration with the Union of Secondary Education State School Teachers of the municipality of Evia, many school supplies were distributed to students from the fire-affected areas, offering simultaneously love and children’s smiles for the new school year.
For us, Easter means “Love in action…” and at the same time with our other various easter actions, we delivered food and necessity goods in 100 families in the municipality of Drama, we donated 200 easter eggs to the Hospital of Chronic Diseases of Drama. We also delivered 30 packages with 200 handmade cookies, chocolates and candles to the children of the Department of Children Protection of the municipality of Drama, sharing generousl once more love and childish smiles!
In accordance with all the safety measures concerning public health during the pandemic of Covid-19, 100 children from our prefecture received a gift of their desire, with lots of love, from their secret “godparents”. This year the action was realized in collaboration with the five Social Services of the municipality of Drama, with the valuable contribution of which , the lists with the real wishes of the children in need were composed, under all circumstances respecting one of our four principles: anonymity. Afterwards, the godparents of kindness bought the items, we gathered them all and then distributed to the children.
The volunteers of our Association, with their creative mood and a spirit of contribution, prepared for one more year our Easter collection named: “with the light of the heart”. Easter handmade scented candles and glass jars stuffed with chocolates, were available to be distributed via donations in order to success our main purpose: offering humanitarian help.
When we celebrate on the Wall of Kindness, we… share more amounts of love! This year, on the 8th of February, we celebrated our 5th birthday! Starting from that, we crafted and distributed randomly 5000 handmade roses to 5000 cars of our city, motivating the receivers to hand them to a beloved person, creating in this way a quite special love chain. In this great kind of “party” we celebrated our 5 years of noiseless offering, voluntary actions, selflessness and solidarity with all our fellow co-citizens from our beautiful city, in a special and prototypical way that absolutely suits with the principles of our association!
360 bags with food and over 100 kilograms of meat were delivered to families,not only in the city of Drama, but also in villages such as Kalampaki, Prosotsani, Agios Athanasios, Lefkogia, Fotolivos, Kali Vrysi, Arkadikos, Xiropotamos, Mavrovatos, Ftelia, Kefalari and Bafra, Serres.
